Hinged Post Binding

The pages

By far the most time consuming part of this album was making the pages. Each page has a tab on the right hand side to turn the page. It is hinged with Japanese kozo (a warm green/gray) to a guard (aka a stub). There is an additional strip along the page to cover the kozo where it attaches to the page. This was both decorative and structural (a little extra glue on the hinges can't hurt, right?). Because the kozo has different properties than the cardstock I used lining up the hinges turned out to be a complete bear. I have no idea how I could improve this process to get consistent pages. I left the deckle edge along the top of the page because I thought it looked pretty and required minimal planning on my part.
